Our Founder

Savanna Fluter

Savanna Fluter is a dedicated dog lover and entrepreneur who operated a successful mobile dog grooming business for six years. Fueled by her passion for helping homeless pets and with a clear mission of making a difference, she acquired an 11-acre property to establish her own rescue. Savanna aims to connect with like-minded individuals eager to contribute to the rescue's growth and provide much-needed support to dogs in need. Aside from studying business at the University of Utah, she holds credentials as a licensed dog groomer, a certified dog trainer and has worked as a veterinary assistant.

Victoria Farris

Victoria has dedicated her life to caring for animals of all kinds; from horses, deer, goats and chickens, to cats and of course, dogs. Her extensive experience with large breed dogs, like Rottweilers and various Shepherds, has been an incredible asset to Better Days Dog Rescue. Each day, she works tirelessly at the rescue, ensuring that every dog receives proper nutrition, care, and attention. Victoria is committed to providing the socialization and exercise that these animals need to thrive, embodying the compassion and dedication that make her an invaluable part of our team.

Shyanne Buckins

Shyanne has always been passionate about animals ever since she was little girl. She has always had the motivation to help any animal in need whether it’s a dog, cat, or wildlife creature, she would risk life and limb for any creature/person in need. She thrives from the support of her friends and family who push her to always succeeded in everything she does. At this time she works at Bedford County Animal Control as a Kennel Technician and does everything she can to care and love the animals. Her dream one day is to open a rescue/rehabilitation center for all animals in need.

Lauren Mendez

Lauren is a dedicated professional with extensive experience as a dog walker and dog trainer, focusing on helping anxious dogs acclimate to new environments. Her compassionate approach is evident in her daily work at the shelter, where she diligently feeds, cleans, and provides training as needed for the dogs in her care. By building trust and confidence in these animals, Lauren plays a vital role in preparing them for successful adoptions, ensuring they find loving homes where they can thrive.
